Moon & Hare Studio is a cozy creative space for people who want to make things, live more seasonally, and bring more art, comfort, and intention into everyday life.
Here you’ll find zines, art, creative online courses, seasonal ideas, and practical encouragement for building a life that feels more handmade and personal. I care about small joys, useful skills, cozy homes, and the kind of creativity that fits into everyday life.
I’m Chrissy (she/her), the artist, writer, educator, and maker behind Moon & Hare Studio.
I make zines, block prints, mail art, creative courses, and seasonal projects for people who want more art and coziness in their everyday lives.
My work comes from years of making things by hand, teaching, writing, gardening, preserving food, creating a home, and finding practical ways to stay creative through the different seasons of life. For most of my life, my creative work has been tied to my food, home, art, and the seasons. I grew up learning practical skills like food preservation, cooking, gardening, and making do with what was available.
I’m also AuDHD, chronically ill, and a single mom, so I know that creativity has to fit into real life. I care about projects that can pause, that can shift, that can change and still be worth doing. I do not believe creativity should require perfect focus, endless energy, expensive supplies, or a calm and spotless house.
Moon & Hare Studio grew out of that mix of creativity, care, everyday resourcefulness, and learning how to make things in the middle of a full and imperfect life.
Some of my work is playful. Some of it is political. Some of it is deeply practical. Most of it lives somewhere in the middle, because that is where real life usually happens.
This is not a place for perfect routines, expensive supplies, or pretending life is easier than it is. I am interested in creative living that works for people with limited time, limited energy, tight budgets, full lives, and changing capacity. Some seasons are productive. Some seasons are slow. That’s how life goes.
My work is rooted in a few guiding ideas:
- Creativity belongs in everyday life and everyone has creative potential.
- Handmade things do not need to be perfect to be meaningful.
- Cozy living can be practical and not performative.
- Seasonal rhythms can help us feel more connected to everyday life.
- Art, food, home, and joy are all connected.
- Small creative acts can help us feel more present in our own lives.
I’m drawn to projects that are useful, personal, and a little bit magical, especially when they can be made at the kitchen table with whatever time, energy, and supplies are available.
